Did you mean “Ukrainian”? Both contain a Cryllic alphabet and derive from the same general region. However, according to Wikipedia, Ukrainian is derived from Old East Slavic while Bulgarian was created from Southern Slavic. Interchangeable? Not so much. Apparently, languages in these regions can differ so much that you might as well be speaking Esperanto. Better yet, it would be like speaking Spanish in Italy. Close, but no cigarro.

Is Bulgarian close to that Ukraine language?
